You have the wrong master cylinder.
Is someone helping you? Bleeding the brakes is easier with two people. Especially if the additional persons is knowledgeable about bleeding brakes.
You don't need a check valve. The stock system can be bled if the system is working correctly and the correct bleeding procedure is used.
Time to get some help. I'm guessing you have a leak.
