I remember reading Grapes of Wrath in high school and Tom Joad said they just took a strand of copper wire to compress the new rings and it would melt once the engine fired.That was before pws and not in the manual either.Must have gone thruogh the pan,I don't remember him saying anything about a ridge reamer
