Didn't mean it any way, actually. Just offering my two cents.
If you are doing a complete rewire on a truck with a future engine change in mind, like you, or maybe you will be doing night driving, a 12 volt system may be the way to go.
If you have a truck that you just put back together that has a problem like Nick's, then just fix the problem.
For me, I get a kick out of having the original six volt equipment. My truck even has the original headlight bulbs. And, from an operational stand point, the six volt system does the job. No need to change it.
