I've noticed on the last few tires I've bought that the side walls have worn out before the tread. I wonder if the manufacturers are skimping on the sidewalls so they don't have to pay out on long tread life warranties. They'll give you a 60,000 mile tread life warranty when they know the sidewalls will only last 20,000 miles. Maybe I'm just being paranoid. Probably no big conspiracy, but just wondering.
