Sterling, it makes no difference if your switch is for 6 or 12 volts. Nor does it matter positive or negative. It just breaks or makes a circuit. You just might have a bad switch internally shorted to ground, or a wire misconnected to a ground circuit. Double check your wiring with the print Joe posted for you. Where are you located in Texas?
