"The proper Michelin flap to use with Michelin tires on each particular rim is designated by a code. The last tow digits of which is the rim diameter. Unless otherwise specified, the flap for the measuring rim is normally supplied with the tire. Michelin truck tires generally have smaller beads than
conventional tires. Therefore only Michelin flaps should be used with Michelin tires"
the above is from the same Michelin truck tire data book.
now the problem is that the Michelin 255/100R16 & 11.00R16 are tubeless and do not
come with a flap and the flaps that I listed in the Best of the Forum (from the Michelin tech book) are no longer available here in the USA (maybe some where else) as in above the issue would be the width of flap.
as Tube Type tires are not a common thing anymore it is understandable that most people working in "the tire business" do not know much about them.
as for using a cheaper non Michelin tube in a
very expensive Michelin tire i would question
that decision.
