I thought Illinois was bad. I have bought several out of state trucks and Illinois never once wanted to inspect the VIN on the frame. Good thing as I have not been able to read the VIN on my '47 since I bought it in 1980. The outer surface of the frame, right where the VIN number is located right under the battery, got soaked with battery acid years before I bought the truck. The pitting is deaper than the numbers were stamped.

I think I will avoid any hastles and just never sell the truck!
