mmmm maybe... radial flaps are smaller measured radially, hence the use of 'narrower'? Smaller radially would be less flap lining the inside of the tire, so less flex and heat build up? But that is the least flexed part of the system.
So, maybe I ought to break down my tires, and snip an inch off each flap edge? ;^)
