No question...most folks have no use for a W500 but then most have no use for a WDX-WM300 either yet they still buy them :)
My advise would be to definitely leave the 413 unless you plan to drive that truck daily...for several reasons. 1-the 413 is a great mill. 2-you probably won't pat 500 miles on it & so fuel cost isn't an issue. 3-As soon as you put a Cummins, now you need to address your gearing with a Cummins liking 2000rpm vs maybe closer to 3000 top end out of that big V8. Remember the W500 has 6.8 gearing & so even with an overdrive & those big tires...I'd say 50mph is about as fast as you'd get it going. Probably more like 70 if you have a 5 speed OD behind that 413.
That's my take.
After shortening one, I've reformed my ways...I think I'd install a flatdeck & leave the wheelbase alone but if money is your goal...a bed will likely attract more money.
