Ron, I third that! I replaced the steering box & pump on my 1st Gen a few months ago & I was surprised at how long it took to work the air out of that system...days. I turned that truck from lock to lock for over an hour, constantly adding fluid slowly & when I had it as good as it would get...it was still a little growly when it was cold. A couple of days later it was totally silent & works perfect.
I've changed lots of PS pumps & never had one stubborn like these...no idea why?
