Thanks for the opinions. I talked yesterday with the owner of a local small engine repair shop and he said that he saw no more instances of engine failures in the Kohler Courage engine than any other brand of engine. He said the longevity of any engine boils down to proper maintenance, of which i totally agree. I had planned on buying a new mower with the Kawasaki engine but i had saw some good deals on used ones and 90% of those have the Courage engine on them....so if you exclude the Kohler engines on your "used mower search" you dont have alot to choose from. Anyway I appreciate the opinions. I was hoping someone would say that the Kohlers were bullet proof like these old 230 flatheads...they just keep on going.
