When I lived in Idaho, I had a Husqvarna zero turn mower with a Kawasaki 18hp motor on it for seven years. That thing was great, started right up every time. Never had a problem with it. Just did regular maintenance on it.
Sorry, I can't speak to the Kohler engines.
