Thanks for this post, good topic.
Mine flat spot too until I drive a ways.
My uncle, who is in his 80's and wheeled all over the mountains in Colorado for much of his life, told me he preferred the bias tires as:
1. they have thicker sidewalls so were not as apt to be damaged from sharp rocks on the trail like radials.
2. they last much longer. Michelin car tires start to degrade after 6 years, and a Michelin rep told me 10 years on the radial truck tires. Several guys use bias tires now that are 30-40 years or more old.
I know radials roll nicer and all, but for the power wagon it is not an issue that I don't have them. Now, on the other hand some radial 9X16's became available again at a decent price, I would consider.
