I hear you Dana, I mean a crow could fly through your front window & kill you but I'm not going to screw my front windshield closed either :) I'm betting you'll find the new Jeep front windshield doesn't open for safety reasons.
I mean lets assume the guy died in that one WDX shown below(I doubt it), but lets assume he did. So that's one out of every FFPW that we know of combined between all of us...I say it's still a safer vehicle than a Prius driven by a guy with a seat belt...according to statistics anyway.
I mean lets look at statistics...you guys want me to pull out the statistics on how many folks die by accidentally discharging their own handgun? :) :)
If you're going to worry about all the different ways you "Could" be killed or injured in your vintage PW...you're gonna need to do a lot of modifying & in the end, I doubt you'll live any longer yet your original truck's gonna be severely defiled, at least in this collectors eyes :)
