What you say is VERY true. My brother works as an engineer in the auto industry and their first concern is liability. He's told me many a time that so many good ideas have been turned down as they can see how someone would misuse it it and sue.
The other thing he told me, and it is true, a lot of things that are around now would not be here if the current sue crazed society was around then. Those products have grandfathered in if you will.
We used to call people who did stupid things idiots, now we call them litigants.
At my place of employement, every trainee I had that had their piece of paper has been worse than someone off the street with a willingness to learn. Seems to me entitlement must be a required first course anymore.
