the dies were all worn out and they would have to retool and the beaurats were breathing down their neck in many ways-------average mpg safety standards etc. etc.
but above and beyond that the masters of the universe(deception) wanted to hedge the co. and pocket the change----so they dropped their whole real truck line and sold the stock off so lee iacocoa and co. could have uncle sam bail em out and pocket the change again
