is the head off? just replace it. like chris said you probalby wont be able to get a new one on. no way to press it. tyring to beat it on will most likely damage something else. if the head is off rotate the cam and as each valve hits its high point stick wood wdges in betwee valve and seat to hold it in open position, then using clothes pins slide each lifter up and install clothes pinon lifter to keep lifter in place, then cam can be removed. then by a shop manual and read it before installing anything. saves alot of time and stress. I ahve been doing this for a long time and still go to my manuals frequently.
