Yesterday I drove 240 miles round trip to western MD to check out an M 37 fs. I was browing on Craigs list and came a cross a truck and from the pics looked descent for an unrestored one which was a fire truck (brush truck). I thought this a plus. Well, pictures- especially one which show essentially nothing underneath or under the hood are deceiving. Once I arrived, I knew things were to go down hill. Yes, rust tons of it underneath where it counts and tht sinking feeling when you run your hand along the bottom seam of the tailgate and feel pieces of rust fill your palm. And, the frame is swiss cheese. And it did not run. Of course the ad said ..."in good condtion..." and from chatting with the ownerover the phone, he sounded sincere but he wanted $3500 which I knew was overprice but I felt it was worth the haggle- perhaps down to 3k or less. I would have said 500- 1k at best when I walked away. But that's the fun of the chase. Not sure why people think their rusty iron is worth sooo much. If it were a WC 52 or even aFFPW I would have gone for it but its not. I am in the throws of a WC 12 restoration but I got a wild hair to get an M 37 to use as is requiring only minor work, brakes, tune up and cosmetics. I am acually interested in an M37 so anyone know of a lead of such a beast in the Virginia, MD, WVA area for sale under 4k, NOT a basket case. (I am working on one of those now), I am interested. I am nuts to bring home another Dodge when I have a B4 and WC12- right?

Thanks folks.
