FWIW I have used both limited slip differentials and I have a Lock-Right in my jeep. (I love them both)

both work well, but have different purposes.
The limited slip in my 06 cummins works great, it does exactly what it is supposed to, it gives a little slip and then hooks up, love it in the snow, ice, and mud.

The Lock-Right is a full positive locking differential, that means it opens up and "clocks" when not under power such as coasting around a corner, if you are going slow and in a tight turn you can feel it lock-unlock-lock-unlock. (sometimes people think i cant drive a clutch or i broke something cuz of the noise or the push pull that can happen.
Now if you power around a corner, the Lock-Rite will lock up and you will spin or drag a tire around the corner, this usually sounds like a dog howling or a tire bark.
Also if you have different air pressure in the tires it can push or pull (steer) your truck in turns and if you apply power or let off.

Just have to get used to how it works.

the limited slip works well in most road conditions and has good manners.
The Lock-Right (or any locker) has less road manners but when you are on the rocks and absolutely need no slip in that diff, then it is the way to go.

Last point, both the limited slip and lockers will add a new challenge in slippery conditions especially if you are on a side slope, you will find the axle will want to track sideways, this will be noticable in corners in snow or in mud.

If you drive this on road more than tricky off road conditions then i would go with the limited slip.
