Freshened the 90's rebuilt motor (all looks good) put my new transmission in built by VPW, New u joints though out, and new axel seals and new brakes (not bled yet) First gear sounds great when i go to second a very loud clattering noise starts that gets louder the faster you go. I have a few guesses...first i havent greased the u joints (unfortunately i put them in where the grease insert is not reachable on the truck but they seemed pre greased. My second guess is that since the transfer case is the only thing that hasnt been gone through it may have something wrong with it. i have a bearing and seal kit i will be installing soon. thirdly perhaps the gears in the axel are not right. I doubt its the transmission, second gear is engaging well. hopefully one of yall has come across this issue.
