Maybe buy this truck as a parts truck and look for a clean driver that is missing parts this truck has?

Not trying to be funny. I'm the poster boy for what gmharris is saying. Rather than being patient and waiting for the right truck to come along, I jumped and purchased a truck 8 months ago that wasn't running/had been sitting a long time.

It's still sitting. Running now but, a long ways from being drivable. It has all the rust issues that have been pointed out. However, in my defense, it was a fairly complete truck and I was able to get it running without a rebuild.

Anyway, I was one of those that thought I would be ahead by purchasing a beater truck for cheap and fixing it up. In reality, just like everyone is saying, I would have been thousands ahead if I just purchased a complete running truck in the first place. Even if I had to ship it across the country!

Not that I regret it but, facts are facts. I also don't plan to sell it, certainly not for a profit. Oh, and I am learning a lot about these trucks and having fun doing it.

Good luck whatever you decide. Be sure to post pics when you get it. There is a enormous amount of great information to be had on this forum. These guys know these trucks.
