I totally understand what you say about starting with a good truck. I've restored ebodies and 100% believe in what you say. The truck will completely come apart and put back with all rust repaired and ever part tested and or replaced. Most likely updated too. The motor will be rebuilt.
So the places to look for rust is front seam on the roof and the frame rails. I'll check the clutch pedal too, but I'm sure this truck has a lot of miles.
