Gas Tank

I have a gas tank that has a lot of sludge in it, nothing you can pour out (gas was sitting in it for years...smells like paint thinner). Since JYD's question about flushing a raditor got a lot of posts, I'm hoping you folks have some suggestions for gas tanks.
