Back about 15yrs ago a decent PW could be had at a fairly cheap price. As more were put back into service and pics found their way into 4x4 mags, there became an ever increasing number of people who wanted to have one(for whatever reason)which has caused the prices to increase and parts harder to find for the working trucks due to some collector/restorers/hobbist but, has caused repo parts that might have never been reproduced,to be available again. Worth is in the eye (or mind) of the beholder,if ther are only 40 swivel frame PWs left or out there, and everyone wants one,the price will be high.As far as what year, same thing,if its wanted ,came with certain options, had a certain look that everyone likes and theres few of them, they'll be high priced. In speaking I am combining all PW from 46'-71'
and if you find any pre-71' Dodge truck,4x4 or not, acquire it if possible before the thing gets scraped, as parts, switches and such are getting hard to find. So, no matter what year or options a PW is or has,its worth is a relative term.
Try checking out all the PW related web pages and links to see what trucks are presented or talked about the most, this should give you some clue.
