I was amazed several years ago to discover that Kroil really is much better than other penetrating oils like Liquid Wrench and WD40. It truly will loosen things that the other's won't. It's expensive in the spray cans, but a gallon in bulk is reasonable and comes with a "free" oil can. The problem with flatheads is the spark plug pockets can collect water if the hood leaks and they can rust pretty bad, but the good side of that is you can put 1/4" of penetrating oil in there and it will eventually soak in (especially Kroil). I agree with the other advice about trying to work the plug back and forth a little, tap on it gently, run the engine with the Kroil in the plug holes, etc. They will come loose!
