As Bruce has indicated, Zero Rust can be thinned to virtually whatever level it takes to get the job done-just bear in mind that more coverage is then required to achieve the "ideal" 3-3.5 mil dft (dry film thickness).
As to getting the ZR into those tight spots, anything goes in terms of how you go about it. Cutting larger access holes, if possible, is one way; using a "wand" sprayer is certainly another. Somebody markets such a device, however I can't remember who it is-perhaps some other guys here can come to the rescue...
We heard one DIYer describe how he'd used a toilet brush to access/paint the inside of his box frame, so as I said, ingenuity is the word of the day!
One other comment: Our metal conditioner, Prep-Step, would be a worthwhile step for you to consider, as it helps degrease and also preps metal for better paint adhesion. One 1.5# bag would be more than enough to do your whole restoration project, probably with some left over.
