Radiator booster pump?

Has anybody heard of a small electric pump that can be inserted in a radiator hose to improve circulation? I'm renovating an old genset with a little flathead mill that uses the infamous "partly by gravity, partly by mystery" ciculation system. Maybe gravity has weakened over the last 50 years, but it doesn't circulate very well and when I shut it off I hear loud noises of boiling water coming from the head and the radiator tank and the head is way too hot to touch even when running with no load, while the water inlet at the bottom of the block is just comfortably warm. I know everything is clean since I just had the whole block apart.
So I'm thinking maybe somebody makes a little booster pump I can put in the hose to help the circulation, like they do with old hot-water radiator systems in houses. Any ideas?
