If you want some fake dynamite, "Inert Products" are your guys Actually the guy is Bob Rozzi, good guy to talk to. He always liked making models when he was a boy and now he has a whole business of making models. They don't sell to "civilians" but if you talk up your connections and what you're doing with it, I'm sure he'd sell you some, or you could get a cop buddy to get some. I think for authenticity you'd want to go with 1950s DuPont 40% and not the modern "donkey d*ck" stuff that looks like a long red plastic sausage.
