Yes. Specifically, I want to leave some oil in the ground so that my daughter's generation has something to fall back on if they need the resource. I don't want us to burn it all up and leave them with a mess.
I completely agree that oil is the most valuable transportation fuel and therefore the most valuable form of stored energy.
I want to leverage our petroleum resources and a little natural gas and a little electricity to produce biodiesel. For every unit of fossil fuel put in to making biodiesel, we get 5.5 units of liquid fuel. We can't replace all the diesel fuel, but it's a start. It is my hope that other industries will tackle this problem from all angels and we wil whittle away at our reliance on petroleum.
