PW's were used for a lot more serious work than just pulling a plow on a farm. They were built, in their day, for serious off road work, serious desert (no roads) use. Could you design and build a better off road trucks these days........of course. But we are not talking about new trucks, we are talking, own and use old iron PW's.

I dont even know if selectable or non selectable lockers were available when the PW line was built. But PW, M37 and WC's, all with basically the same drive train, appeared to quite well off road in the Theaters of WW II.
