I always put them on the rear
On our Jeep Wrangler I put them on the front to plow snow the Jeep gos back into the garage after plowing no onroad drtiving in the winter.
Then in summer I take the chains off, take it out of low ,range take the doors and top off ,install the outlaw mirrors and give it to my wife to drive 7 years the same so far
