Willpower is my weakness, I've been known to get it running and moving before the brakes are....makes for an interesting first ride.

If it were mine, I would see if the motor turns, then change the oil, go through all of the moving parts and inspect for damage to any safety related component, apply/change all other lubrication, establish brake operation, Drive...then decide where you are going to start. There is a bonding period between these old machines and their new owners, it reduces the chance of tearing something apart and then losing interest.
