The tailgate on my carryall were shot beyond repair. I used the panel swing open doors off a 46 Panel truck. The width was perfect, the height was to tall. Easy to cut down and re box the bottom. Actually I prefer panel doors to the tailgates.
Look closly on your carryall door posts. You will see indent areas top and bottom, left/right where provision was made to panel doors. Mine even had 5/16" back plates welded in but not drilled and tapped.
