I have one apart right now. You need to set the proper end play (in and out) for the input shaft using the various thickness gaskets. I forget what the measurement is, and I need to find out. It's probably in the 0.005"-0.010" range. Too tight over-stresses the bearings, and too loose causes uneven wear patterns. Otherwise they are one of the simplest machines in the world.
