as you know, i have been getting help and advice here on my 1991 first gen dodge diesel's fuel issues. it stalled once and it then would not start. i checked out he system and found metal lines along the frame (factory) with factory connections to rubber hoses to special connections on the tank end. if you consider the return lines that's a lot of places to leak fuel and suck air. total # of connections / junctions were too many to deal with. i found leaks in the steel at both ends and a leak in the rubber line that presented itself as a tank side leak. the line crumpled in a few spots... i spent the day removing all of the lines and I had to drop the tank to get to the lines in that area. i purchased a new lift pump and will be installing that too. going to use USCG diesel rated 5/16" hoses from engine to tank, shielded where needed and bundled and secured to the frame rail. will reduce # of connections to 2 at the tank and 2 at the engine. will eliminate rusting and will facilitate changes in the future. thanks for the help. i now need to find the steel line that goes between the fuel lift pump and the engine injection pump. any ideas where to get? does anyone know which genos line will get me the connections i need with the provision for a fuel pressure gauge? also are the lift pump fittings for the fuel lines metric or standard? thanks again. i will post pics of everything cleaned up and installed. thanks. mannyc
