the stock axles may hold up a lot better with a 4.30 ratio as compared to the the bone wrenching 5.83, specially with a centered pumpkin
the front axles on my wc are way thicker(xcept for the spline) than the rears which are the same thickness as the wdx wm axles both front and rear(and the actual shaft is thinner than the spline area on these as well)
again i think a thicker shaft lends strength to the spline
