Not very long. I forgot to mention that I did a lien sale through my business to get a bill of sale. It took a few hours to weigh it because the nearest certified scale was 60 miles away. I had to make an appoinment with the CHP for the vin verification. I trailered the truck to the local CHP office which is just a few miles away. Once I was there it only took about twenty minutes for the officer to look at the truck. They asked what kind of vehicle I was bringing when I made the appoinment and all I told them was a "1955 Dodge Power Wagon". When the officer (who I know from working the highway) came out to look at my ffpw he had printed out information from the t137.com website! After that it was off to the DMV to hand in all the paperwork and pay those huge California registration fees. So it depends on what you have to do and how far you have to travel to get things done etc. Do you have any paperwork from the previous owner? I think Marty had a great idea about VPW making you a new door tag. That's good to know that VPW can stamp new door tags! If you want my number, let me know. I can probably point you in the right direction.
