it does work in gasoline. the ethanol also makes all the dirt in the tank get suspended in the fuel causing lots of clogged fuel filters back when they first switched over to it. i owned a shop at the top of a hill in 91 or so and cars wer puling in thinking their engines were dying. was happening all the time right after the new fuel came out. the parts stores were out of stock on many fuel filters for a while.
