I went to a buddies place the day before Christmas after he expressed interest in reducing some of his PowerWagon supplies "used parts". I only have a 1941 WC half ton and I already knew he mostly dealt with the 1946 B series and most of his parts were for those heavy one ton Dodges. After looking over his done truck we walked around his bone yard of three trucks that were in rougher shape than most trucks of this age. Two of them were B series and one was unknown until I ran the serial number and started looking at the leftover parts. The cab is off a '39 Plymouth PT-81? but the rest "axles, gearbox, combat rims, hood, radiator and frame" look like they might be from an M-37? The axles look just like my half ton WC's, and the rear pumpkin is not offset. I needed a cab, as mine is pretty rough, so I bought the whole thing. The hood "flat and square" looks usable, as does the square radiator and frame if anyone is looking for one. Has the 4 combat rims too, but I don't think I will use them on my truck if anyone was looking for a set of those. Fenders are junk, unfortunately. The frame was cut and welded as the previous, previous owner wanted a woods truck.

I backed the trailer into the yard, and after I walked into the house my wife made the comment "If that is my Christmas present, you can bring it back to where you got it." My reply "No dear, I knew you didn't get me anything, so I got it for myself, and next year I am going to get another that is way shinier!"

The link it to the truck I bought, but if you open the thumbnails you can see the whole album of the day and other "rough" trucks.
