Pay attention to what Perry has to say. He is the voice of experience.
Just to get the truck you describe in usable condition will take several thousand dollars and a lot of work. And, getting an engine to start is not the same as having an engine that will be reliable or even continue to run for any length of time.
It's difficult to, "just get the truck running" when the truck is 50 years old and as one member here said, "..every moving part was worn out".
These trucks were usually parked for some reason that made them unusable. Hopefully, you won't find that reason after you have invested a lot of money.
But, I can sense that you are started down the garden path. Welcome to the club.
