Got my cab back

So my friend put a new roof on my cab since it was smashed in beyond repair with a hammer etc...He did a great job I think. One thing I noticed is that after he blasted it, on the bare metal in front of the passenger door, there is an imprint or stamp from the steel mill where the cab metal was rolled out... Awesome!

I now have the cab in the shop and am afraid it will flash rust anytime... Should I go ahead and prime it and then do the body work? If so, what primer would you guys recommend?
Im very green to bodywork. This will be my first real body job... Wish me luck. Any advice is surely welcomed
