I think you need to come to Marty's school of First Gen power modifications :)
That truck of Manny's will dust a 2000 with a few modifications & still get about 5mpg better economy.
The First gen's do have a few comfort issues but not even in the same realm as a WDX! The doors not the best but at least they don't pop open when off-road like the PW's :)
If Manny's truck was an extended cab...I'd be all over it like a fly on cow dung :)
Seriously, I'd take an equivalent condition First Gen over a new 2013 Cummins & I'd make money on it in the long run if you kept them both until they were ready for the scrap yard.
