Sounds like you have a bad liner. Dirt or burrs get in there and cause it to have so much resistance that the drives can't push the wire through.

Quick test is to take off the end tip. Trigger the gun and see if it works. Sometimes it can be just that the end tip needs replaced if metal has built up there. You can clean that with a torch tip cleaner to get a little more service out of it.

If it's still dragging cut the wire before the feed rollers. Try to pull in and out. If there is drag you'll need a new liner. My Miller 25 fter runs about $25.00. What happens is dirt/oxidation builds up on the wire and you force it into the liner. It collects till it drags.

Cleaning? Never tried to be honest, but liners are like pull/push cables on lawn mowers. Spiral wrapped wire that the welding wire passes through. It may be possible but your looking at some time trying to. Id be interested to know if you get it done.
