I would not bet on your life or mine using a oiless compressor. There is chance for containments etc. You need a real pro to make that determination.

With that said, the air source for my supplied air respirator is a turbine. The motor is totally separate from the turbine. The intake air to the turbine is filtered thru a Hepa Filter. My supplied air respirator carries a NIOSH certification number. I run the turbine unit out side in the rear of the shop where the air is clean and tun the hose in thru the port on the overhead door.
