Did you ever drain the trany oil and change it? I wonder if you have chunks broken loose.
The guy I got mine from told me the transfer case was out. after pulling it and rebuilding it even though it looked fine I found the problem was a trashed rear end. They parked them for some reason then forgot why in some cases.
