Weird Braden MU2 Serial Number

I picked up an MU2 that has an odd serial number; 90338. The numbers are all clearly stamped in the casting, so I don't think the first digit is faded. I believe the WWII MU2s used a 300,000 series number, and the Power Wagons used the YY XXXX Year/Serial number system. Also the stamping pad in the casting is smaller and than the other pads I've seen, almost square rather than the larger rectangle. So what do I have?
