HEATER CORE

The heater core on my 05 dodge ram 2500 is bad. The new core is not too expensive but the installation seems very difficult. Does anyone have a secret for an easy remove and replace? (besides going to the dealer) Also, any suggestions as to what other maintenance should be done while this is completed. The truck has 190K on it.
