What the heck does a guy need an old power wagon or a fire truck for? I don't understand the concept of wanting to drive around a big heavy slow gas-sucking truck. I mean I suspect it could haul an oil rig or put out a fire, if the need should arise, but I don't feel like driving a big truck around just in case something heavy should happen to hump out in front of me needing to be hauled. I can't imaging living in fear of heavy objects or fires to the point that I thought I needed to drive around in some big useless truck. I drove a Toyota pickup once, but gave it away... way too dangerous.

The point of guns is simple. They go bang and they make a hole in something far away. If you can't see the innate beauty in that, there's no help for you. People buy guns out of fear for the same reason they buy welders, milling machines, bulldozers, chain saws, and old trucks out of fear. Or if you can't exactly see why anyone would buy a bulldozer or a welder out of fear, then consider that maybe they don't buy guns out of fear either. A gun is just a machine. It's one of the very many tools and machines that men have invented to allow us to alter our environment for our benefit. As an example, I find that a gun is an excellent way to alter the number of pack rats in my environment, to my benefit. But different guys have need of different tools. I will probably never own an English wheel. You will never own a gun. If you owned an English wheel, I would not want to presume that you owned it because you were afraid of uncurved sheet metal, though.
