There will be twice the amps and 4 times the heat, running a 6 volt horn at 12 volts, but having not tried it, I believe the comments here that say it works fine. The key is that we very rarely use the horn. We're not New York taxi drivers here. I can't even remember the last time I used the horn on any vehicle.
