Some of my considerations are :

* I have 8 lug Dana 70s which I would like to upgrade to disk brakes for which there is no conversion (unknown future spacing requirements)
* I will ultimately implement power steering like Helitool used to sell for 69-71 Power Wagons
* I will likely have to have some custom arc springs to lift the truck slightly for clearance
* The reality is most miles will be street, so massive sidewalls for offraoding are not a huge requirement, and any reduction in sidewall will provide additional handling regardless of the handycapped design of solid axles

I spoke with Stockton wheel regarding rim diameter, and their initial response was to go with 15" or 16" rims with 9-10" width.

On that note, I would think I would want a width that was similar to the tire width (usually 12"-ish).

If anyone has any useful technical documentation on how to choose rims in light of this (there's no guide for putting updated wheel/tire/suspension on these 40+ year old vehicles), that would be great. I have friends in the "wheeler community", but everyone has their own objectives/use-cases/opinions on this, and it's difficult to filter the responses for what I need versus what people want for their own truck.

I get inspiration from the 64 W300 project here :

My truck is very similar (http://powerwagon.com)

I also like the "low(er) profile of the large tires on large rims such as the later model Hummer vehicles. I'm encouraged by the previous post regarding rim vs. tire diameter, but I'd like something to substantiate this equasion...

Thanks in advance.
